Organic Potting Mix and How To Up-Pot Your Figs
A method of up-potting fig plants to larger containers by Fig Agro Lab Asia using organic ingredients.
One thing about this beautiful fig hobby is the urge to keep learning more about what varieties I want to have, what works for us here in South Florida and how so many varieties perform so different from another one grown exactly in the same way and conditions as the one next to it. So naturally, I get more curious about how other grow their figs. I am very curious specially towards what other members, collectors and enthusiasts use as their mix. I enjoy watching mostly videos of how they prepare it to get it ready for up-potting their small plants and onto their new, larger containers.
One such video that just showed up in the community and that I very much enjoyed at how detailed it was and overall educational was that of Ryan B D'Souza from Fig Afro Lab Asia.Ryan has been around (that I know of) for quite some time and with over 700 plus varieties in his collection and studies, it is no surprise why he is very knowledgeable. On their youtube channel, you will also find many appearances of his wife (fig queen) and his children (fig kids) making all sorts of not just educational videos but fun ones as well.
On this particular video I am writing about, Ryan goes into every single aspect from his mix he uses to how he up-pots his baby fig plants. Did you know that all of his ingredients he uses in his mix are organic? It's true, which in my view, it is another great reason I believe he is very succesful with his figs. I don't want to spoil the fun of give out every detail. Instead, how about you watch the video for yourself? Watch his video, pay attention, learn and share it on your social media and friends.
