Hello everyone! I’m fairly new to fig growing but have already started to grow my collection. I have a Violette de Bordeaux, lattarula Italian honey, col de dam Blanc, Chicago hardy, Olympian, brown turkey, Celeste, and a Kadota. They are all potted figs but I have them in fairly large pots. Im really excited to taste my figs once they start to produce because to be honest I have only tasted the brown turkey and black mission. I’m looking forward to learning a lot from my fellow fig enthusiasts and welcome any tips and tricks to better help me develop my green thumb.

Oooo, you're in for a treat. IMHO BT and BM are not premier figs. VDB, Lattarula, CddB, Olympian are. They're all delicious but you've got something special there.

Thanks! I’m excited now! What should I do for fertilization in the spring once they start to sprout their new leaves?

Im building a house and it won’t be ready for another few months but once it’s built I will have plenty of room in my backyard to plant them in ground

should help

I mostly stick to organic stuff but that's just me. Worm castings, chicken manure, cow manure, seaweed, comfrey tea, compost tea, nettle tea, worm tea, worm leachate, fermented plant juice, or whatever else I have on hand that day.

I also use some of this stuff
