First frost is upon us (Saturday is 60% chance). What are you doing to extend your season or how are you tucking your garden away for the winter, or do you have plans of a winter garden? Would love to hear from you!

May be an image of tree and text that says 'WINTER SCOMING'

Sorry homie, no frost for me here in SoCal. I plan to leave everything to the elements and see what survives.

I have about 4 dozen fig cuttings started in 3 large clear/translucent rubbermaid storage boxes sitting on chairs facing my south bank of windows. About half are from my own figs, the other half I bought or traded. They are doing great and most of them have new leaves already. I air them out for a couple of hours most days but it makes a cheap mini greenhouse. I plant to leave the lids off more and more as they mature and eventually transfer to their own pots to finish growing ( next to windows and/or grow lights as needed ) and plant outdoors next spring. Its nice to look at growing green things this time of year.

Nothing different here. I'm just working on the garden, completely changing the irrigation setup and eliminating a bunch of trees.
