Description
From David:
Quinell is one of our family favorites. This tree we happened to stumble upon while driving in Northern California. The mother tree is a seedling that sits alone, growing through an old wooden fence at the end of a dirt drive turn-off on a dead end road. Interestingly, another seedling popped up this year, about a hundred feet away from this one. No one maintains the tree, yet it still produces very well.
This fig bears a tasty honey-nut flavor, which becomes more of a banana-nut when made in to a jam. Nothing extravagant here. Not too sweet; a slightly thicker skin, but not chewy; mild seed crunch if any. Just an all around solid fig.
Not enough is known about this "variety" to take what is said by David into account. We highly advice you to further extend your own research before even considering adding it to your collection.
