I for one have been so busy, I haven't had time to post much on here or research much for the database. So let me tell you and show you what I have been up to as of late. I dismantled my garden is the first thing.
I started selecting the fig varieties I chose to keep and those that I had no longer a space in my heart to keep. That was about 40 trees in 5 gallon containers I got rid of. I did sell a couple of cuttings and gave a few to friends.
With that out of the way, I started re-organizing the garden, carefully selecting how many containers I wanted on each plastic pallet and the sizes of them with types of fruit trees. (Also added some fresh mulch)
After that it was time to up-pot all the selected fig varieties and other fruit trees to go on their new spots and I redid the entire irrigation system.
And so that's pretty much where I'm at right now. I have added other new fruits to my collection both in containers and in ground. My very small yard is now filled to its maxed. Pulled out figs like there was no tomorrow and replaced them with some good ole' Florida/Tropical fruit trees.
I also plan on doing a couple of giveaways here on The Fig Spot. And just a heads up, I've also been busy working on a new site where yall could buy and sell (shhhh, it's a secret )
