Excellent fig when allowed to get extremely ripe. Unfortunately it is somewhat prone to splitting and rotting with rain. Seems to be in a class of figs like Black Mission. For me in zone 6a, grown in a container, it has not been as productive as some others, and starts to ripen mid-September.Actual origin uncertain, originally propagated by Becnel's Nursery in Louisiana.I have posted photos in above links.
