About This Challenge

Welcome to the very first Fig Database Community Challenge!

We're kicking things off by celebrating something we all love—beautiful figs! Whether you've grown an incredible variety, harvested the perfect ripe fig, or captured a memorable moment in your garden, we want to see it!

Show Us Your Favorite Fig! invites our community of fig growers and collectors to share their best original fig photographs. Tell us a little about your fig, identify the variety if you know it, and let your photography inspire fellow enthusiasts.

You'll have 14 days to submit your entry. After entries close and are reviewed, eligible photographs will advance to our official seven-day community voting period. Members will help select the first-, second-, and third-place winners!

This is a special Recognition-Only Challenge hosted by Fig Database. No cash, plants, gift cards, or physical prizes are offered. Winners will receive official community recognition, personalized congratulations, and any eligible existing Community Rewards.

Most importantly, this is about sharing our passion, discovering beautiful figs, and celebrating the people who make this community special.

Official Recognition

Recognition only. No physical or cash prizes are offered. First, second and third place receive official rankings, personalized congratulations and existing eligible rewards.

Official Competition Policy

Score descending, then earliest original entry submission; contributions use earliest final qualifying activity, then join time. Exact remaining ties require review and receive no automatic prize.

One winning position per member. A prize bundle stays together; the highest ranked unused member eligible for every prize in that position receives it. Skipped eligibility and insufficient winners require review. Zero-score participants do not receive automatic placements.

Photography and recipes: 48 hours for final entry moderation, then exactly seven days (168 hours) of official voting. Contribution challenges: 72 hours for final moderation after participation closes. The first scheduled finalization freezes verified scores; later approvals cannot increase a frozen score. Entries and contributions remain subject to fraud and eligibility checks.

Contribution limits: 10 qualifying source activities per Eastern calendar day and 200 per challenge. Each source can count toward only one simultaneous challenge. All participants retain legitimate existing lifetime accomplishments; sponsored rankings never use them.

Results are provisional and private until Admin approval. Exact unresolved ties and unfilled positions are flagged, not arbitrarily assigned. After confirmed results, each winner receives a secure prize confirmation request. Sponsors receive delivery access only after the winner authorizes it.

Rules & Judging

Participation

Submit your own original fig-related photograph, with a title and description.

Judging Criteria

Approved entries enter seven days of verified community voting after entries close. Verified votes determine provisional prize positions, subject to fraud checks, eligibility and Admin confirmation.

Voting & Scoring Rules

One verified member ballot per challenge; self-votes, duplicate and fraudulent votes are excluded. Ties: higher verified vote total, then earlier original submission time, exact remaining ties are flagged without arbitrary selection. Official voting lasts exactly seven days after a 48-hour moderation window. Votes may be changed before closing; likes are not ballots.

Points & Recognition

Challenge contribution totals are separate from lifetime points. Existing source activity points are never awarded twice. Any eligible uncredited rewards are settled once after confirmed completion; badges and unified rewards remain reserved for Phase 5.

Sponsor Responsibilities

Fig Database hosts and moderates this recognition-only competition. No physical or cash prizes or fulfillment obligations apply.

Schedule & Fulfillment

The entry period begins at actual launch. Photography and recipes retain the existing entry moderation and seven-day voting process. Contribution scoring retains the existing final moderation window.
