This is an early purple fig from Calabria with some similarities to the Mt Etna class, in leaf appearance, and the fig size, appearance and qualities. It may be a bit earlier than some and may have a little thicker, 'jammier' interior consistency. Reportedly it was used as a fig for drying. Very good quality. Some have reported it growing in clusters though I have not seen that on my young tree. I have not tested it for cold tolerance.Similar Varieties
