I have four in-ground trees that lack for nothing here in fig heaven. They are well over four years old now, and they have yet to produce a single fruit.
Don't try this at home, kids!
If you don't mind a small fruit and not such a productive tree but love the fact it does amazing in rains and humidity, I'd say "try it". We like it for those reasons and it's a fig you can eat when all others turn to crap.
Semi-sweet, some acidic tones, small or closed eye, berry flavor and South Florida acceptable.
