Description
Sacred Origin:
The male pollen sacs start green then turn purple upon "ripening". This fig is home to fig wasps and is not an edible fig as each contains pollen and wasps only. This is a male fig that was discovered as a seedling in the abandoned blueberry orchard where Rodgrod, Honey plum and Dulce de Leche were also found. I believe it is the "Daddy" to all of the common figs found in that field. Example of cuttings you will receive can be seen in last picture.
Note: This may be a persistant capri vrs smyrna since the many female figs in the same field, likely offspring of this male are all common.
By Lee Ann 9-3-2020:
Grape ape is a male, 100 percent pollen fig. A seedling growing in a blueberry field near Honey Plum and Rodgrod. It ripens early in the season and is full of wasps. Thinking it might be good for those early producing figs to be pollinated...
