Description
According to this Ryan B D'Souza person:
"A little history to clear the air about our famed Super Jumbo DK fig to prevent the circulation of misinformation. The code DK does not refer to Dessert King.
The Super Jumbo (SJ) series can be traced to a Professor Chee (or Shih) in Taiwan who was growing this lovely cultivar, SJ can be considered to be the parent. SJ produces big figs that range in size from 120 to 140g. Some of the SJs are elongated, while others are big and round and some may be small.
From amongst the 100s of SJs we had planted, Dato observed that 2 trees consistently produced Huge Figs in the category 140 to 180g and sometimes tipping the scales at 200g. Almost a quarter pounder.
We then began to clone and cultivate more and more of this unique strain that consistently produced big figs. To distinguish this strain from the Super Jumbo series, we added a code DK to refer to the Different Key (DK) of genetic expression , thus the Super Jumbo DK was born.
The Super Jumbo DK is excellent for commercial farming and yes, dun forget to feed your plants well, this is a must.
Should I add, that the Super Jumbo series performs even better in Mediterranean climate and dun forget to feed your plants well"
