Comparison to Flanders
Many fig growers and collectors believe that Kafe Te Jiate and Flanders are, in fact, the same fig variety. The fruit size, shape, skin striping, interior color, and overall flavor profile are nearly identical. Both varieties share similar tight ostioles, resistance to splitting, and high productivity, making them equally desirable among collectors. While some claim that Kafe Te Jiate may have slightly different growth habits or ripening times, the overwhelming consensus is that these two figs are virtually indistinguishable. Whether they originated separately and converged over time or if one was simply renamed, the connection between them remains strong.Photos Add Your Image
