Welcome to Profig! My name is Brian, and I started Profig in 2019 right here in Fresno, California. What started as a passion for growing and collecting figs has turned into a full-time business that I truly enjoy. Over the years, (probably 15) I have collected and grown hundreds of different fig varieties from around the world. I have my own fig orchard and nursery where I grow, propagate, and evaluate varieties firsthand. I’m always looking for something new and exciting to add to the collection. I always say I’m not adding more but that’s not the truth lol. One thing I’ve always believed in is growing the varieties myself so I can share my personal experiences with customers. I pay close attention to flavor, productivity, ripening times, growth habits, and how different varieties perform in our hot Central Valley climate. We specialize in rare and collectible fig trees, rooted plants, and cuttings. We also grow and sell other edible plants, including mulberries, bananas, and specialty fruit trees. I’m very active in the fig community and help manage several large Facebook groups dedicated to growing, collecting, and sharing information about figs. I also enjoy helping new growers get started and sharing what I’ve learned over the years. More recently, I’ve become involved in fig genetics and DNA research, working with others in the community to better understand different varieties, their relationships, and possible duplicates. I believe there’s still a lot to learn about figs, and I’m excited to be part of that process. I also started The Profig Podcast, where we bring together growers, collectors, and researchers to talk about everything fig-related. For me, Profig has always been about more than just selling plants. It’s about growing great figs, learning something new every season, building relationships, and sharing that knowledge with others. I appreciate everyone who has supported Profig over the years, and I look forward to continuing to grow alongside this amazing fig community.
