Fico Gentile was probagated from cuttings Leon Edmond received from Alessandro, a friend of Leon's who lives in Bari, Italy.

"The first fruit from our tree was picked a little early but still had a berry flavor of moderate intensity and moderately to very sweet and bright red pulp, delicious fruit. This has been confirmed to be a common type fig not requiring Caprification ."
