Other Comments
Figaholics: Souadi is a Lebanese fig introduced by another collector. Fruits are medium in size juicy with moderate sweetness and a good flavor that are unique and difficult for me to describe. Somewhat chewy with slight seed crunch.
Ross The Fig Boss: 8/10. ''First off.. this is a good fig, but it takes a while to ripen from soft to fully ripe. That however is not a problem as my Souadi figs have been drying on the tree in this extremely humid/wet weather I've been having. I am amazed. It's also a beautiful fig. Particularly when ripening. Bass has photos of this one that are beautiful and I can see why. It's stunning. Anyway. If you can let it shrivel and dry a bit on the tree the berry flavors will concentrate some. Dried or two days earlier it's very refreshing. Reminds me of the caprified Zidi I had from California. Early to Mid ripening. Productive. Jammy. Resistant to wet weather. Closed eye. It's just a winner here.''
Trees of Joy: An excellent tasting Lebanese figs. Originated in the small mountainous village of Lala. Figs are of medium size with beautiful skin color and the pulp is translucent red. This particular variety came from a village in the hills near Byblos. The medium figs are so sweet and the tree is productive. The skin changes from red to Black
.
Jamie0507: 2018: Makes a large number of small to med size very nice tasting figs. They need to be allowed to hang quite awhile to fully develop their flavor. Don't pick too soon & you will be rewarded for your patience
