Description
An UNofficial LSU variety identified as NOT being bred by LSU , but grown at Burden Center in Baton Rouge, along with actual LSU bred varieties designated DC1, DC2, DC6 & DC7. The DC stands for "dead cat" because when Dr. Johnson's staff was taking cuttings, a dead cat was found in the green house.
This variety was named differently than the other four, which were never released to the public, but were saved by Dr. Johnson before the greenhouse was demolished. The name comes from Louisiana horticulturist, Buddy Lee.

I do not say Buddy Lee was a LSU fig, just that it was being grown at Burden Center LSU ........Buddy Lee fig was proagated by Buddy Lee who is a close friend of Dr. Johnson ,after tasting the Buddy Lee fig ,Dr.Johnson decided to add it to the collection at Burden Center.......
