Lampeira is the name used in the Algarve region of Portugal, while in the rest of the country it is called Lampa Branca. In Portugal, this fig is considered to be cachopeiro, meaning there is two crops, a Brebras and a main crop, without the need of caprification. From Jose Ribeiro (JR):
Lampa Branca is a 'Cachopeiro' type , a biferous fig producing brebas and Common without pollination. Both crops dry well and make excellent fruit for winter in eastern Algarve
