Description
The Pissalutto, green and Black varieties, are common figs of Genoa and the Riviera ponente, and are found in adjacent Cote d'Azur. The Pissalutto nero has proven the richest tasting of these two varieties. If ever there is uncertainty as to the true flavor of fig, this is the reference variety.
Fruits are generously, prodigiously, produced on a very dense, ball-shaped tree. No brebas, season long, and continues ripening into November. Fruits round, upon a definite stalk held away from branch, forest green almost entirely covered with purple- Black , sprinkled with many white lenticels. Flesh jam-like, sweet and tart, deep oxblood in color.
