Description
From Kremp Florist:
Popone figs hail from Tuscany and are native to Elba Island. You can recognize this rare variety by its stunning green and yellow stripes while growing on the tree. The stripes tend to fade as Popone ripens, so take that as a sign that your figs are getting ready to be harvested and enjoyed. Ripe figs will bear a green/yellow/brown skin. They may even exhibit a curve to their long bodies like you would see on a butternut squash.
Harvy from Figaholics
Popone is a variegated bifera fig originating on Elba island in Tuscany, of ancient pedigree. This variety is grown by a few others in the U.S. but remains very rare.
