Description
Sold by Just Fruits & Exotics as a Black Madeira, but ended up a NOT, however very similar.
This is what Just Fruits and Exotics (JFE) says in regards to this variant:
The Black Madeira Fig is sought after by collectors, due to the excellent unique flavor. Our Black Madeira Mother Trees are straight from UC Davis and have provided our customers with excellent Figs for many years. However, just like humans, plants can develop their own unique traits overtime. According to numerous Fig Collectors who have followed our Black Madeira ‘s for years, they have identified a unique change of leaf patterns starting with the spade with three lobes during their early growth, changing patterns over time, and then returning to the more common spade with three lobes at maturity (See numerous photo’s attached showing our plants at various times of growth.) Many collectors have also claimed that our Black Madeira Figs are the BEST tasting Black Madeira ‘s they have found. These unique traits have led some customers to call our trees the JFE Black Madeira ‘s, which is perfectly okay with us. We will leave the naming and taste testing to you!
