Description
Pota DE Cavall, meaning "Leg of Horse" in Catalan, is a fig variety introduced by Monserrat Pons. It is known for producing medium to large fruits with a thick, jammy texture. The figs have a rich red center and dark skin, offering a combination of berry, honey, and syrupy flavors. This variety produces one Main crop and is highly productive, making it a desirable addition to any fig collection.
This fig variety has been noted for its excellent berry and jammy flavor, which some enthusiasts have compared to the renowned Black Madeira. It has been described as having a sweet taste filled with honey and syrup. The fruits are very thick and jammy, making them a favorite among fig growers.
Eric Durtschi 11-20-21:
This was most likely uncaprified but it was delicious with mild berry flavor and nice sweetness and a thick, honey filled pulp.
This looks very much like Black Madeira but there was only one fig this year so it’s definitely too early to call. Maybe this is one of the originals???

Albafigs: Described the variety as having an excellent berry and jammy flavor, producing one Main crop and being very productive.
